BKK VBU became mkk – meine krankenkasse. Simply because it's easier.
Effective January 1, 2024, we changed our name from BKK VBU to mkk – meine krankenkasse. Simply because it's easier. You don't have to worry about anything.
Courage to change
We were founded more than 30 years ago as BKK VBU because the company we were affiliated with was called Verkehrsbau Union. Meanwhile, we have grown and now insure more than 550,000 people who no longer have a personal connection to this name. We are open to everyone. And that's why we are now mkk - meine krankenkasse.
The most important things first:- Your insurance coverage remains the same.
- You don't have to worry about anything.
- No one prompted us to take this step; there's no merger behind it.
- We do everything to keep you healthy. We made this promise already as BKK VBU. It still holds today, with the addition: We make healthcare easy.
- For employers and the nursing care fund, only the name changes.
Our new look
